LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jim and Yvette Loughlin upon the occa-
sion of their designation for special recognition by The Whaling Museum
& Education Center on July 19, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize those
individuals of preeminent character whose lives exemplify the highest
ideals of humanity and whose lifework and civic endeavor serve to
enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great State of
New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jim
and Yvette Loughlin upon the occasion of their designation for special
recognition by The Whaling Museum & Education Center, to be celebrated
at its Luau on the Harbor on Saturday, July 19, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Residents of Huntington, New York, Jim and Yvette Loughlin
are active in serving their community; it was this commitment to commu-
nity that inspired the founding of The Loughlin Charity Golf Open (LCGO)
in 2007; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception, the LCGO has generously supported such
causes as For the Fallen, The Junior Welfare League of Huntington, Oper-
ation Hearts & Homes and the Huntington Hospital; and
WHEREAS, Jim Loughlin is Principal and Managing Director of Loughlin
Management Partners + Co in New York City, and serves on the Board of
Directors of Huntington Hospital; and
WHEREAS, A Real Estate Agent with Daniel Gale Sotheby's International
Realty, Yvette Loughlin gives of her time and energies to the preserva-
tion of the local history and promoting education programs at The Whal-
ing Museum & Education Center in Cold Spring Harbor through her service
on its Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, This exemplary couple hopes to continue to raise both funding
and awareness for The Whaling Museum & Education Center, and continue to
promote the mission of this Cold Spring Harbor gem; and
WHEREAS, With them throughout have been their three sons, Drew, Connor
and Adam, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of their lives and
rejoice in their achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate blend-
ing of strength, intellect and commitment as that demonstrated by both
Jim and Yvette Loughlin over a lifetime of sacrifice and dedication to
others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jim and Yvette Loughlin upon the occasion of their designation for
special recognition by The Whaling Museum & Education Center on July 19,
2014; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jim and Yvette Loughlin.
