LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring United Hospice of Rockland upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the DeWitt Clinton Award by
the Stony Point Wawayanda Masonic Lodge on June 29, 2014

WHEREAS, Individuals and organizations devoted to improving the quality
of life for others, enabling them to build lives of dignity and self-
worth are deserving of the highest praise and recognition; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
United Hospice of Rockland upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the DeWitt Clinton Award by the Stony Point Wawayanda
Masonic Lodge, to be celebrated on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at the DeWint
House in Tappan, New York; and
WHEREAS, For nearly 25 years, United Hospice of Rockland has provided
care, hope, comfort and improved quality of life to individuals and
their families facing serious illness; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed organization leads the health and human
services community in improving the provision of care to those affected
by serious illness, and offers compassionate support to members of its
community who have experienced the loss of a loved one; and
WHEREAS, United Hospice of Rockland has consistently displayed an
outstanding commitment to maintaining the dignity of its patients and
their rights to choice and self-determination; and
WHEREAS, In so effectively carrying out its mission, United Hospice of
Rockland has demonstrated the value of helping individuals and their
loved ones facing serious illness receive the best care and support
possible; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor United Hospice of Rockland upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the DeWitt Clinton Award by the Stony Point Wawayanda
Masonic Lodge; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to United Hospice of Rockland.
