LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending George Pulver's Glass Inc. upon the
occasion or celebrating its 100th Anniversary on May 10, 2014

WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and the great
State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good works
of those patriotic and civic-minded community members who dedicate their
lives and careers to the service of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the entire
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
George Pulver's Glass Inc. upon the occasion of celebrating its 100th
Anniversary on May 10, 2014, in Hudson, New York; and
WHEREAS, George Pulver's Glass was established on May 10, 1914, when
C. Edward Pulver, the grandfather of the current owner, opened C.
Edward Pulver's at 217 Warren Street; the new store sold motorcycles,
bicycles, guns, fireworks, sporting goods, toys and glass and repaired
wooden sashes; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, this esteemed small business continued to
expand and grow, moving to a larger location three times, and concen-
trating more of its business on safety glass; and
WHEREAS, George Pulver's Glass has witnessed the numerous changes in
Hudson during its lifespan and remains a stalwart member of its communi-
ty, consistently providing outstanding customer service; and
WHEREAS, Small businesses such as George Pulver's Glass exert a
strong, positive influence on the communities in which they serve and
are a crucial element in the economy of New York State; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional family-run company and its contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident that it will continue to
enjoy the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend George Pulver's Glass Inc. upon the occasion of celebrating its
100th Anniversary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to George Pulver's Glass Inc.
