LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Danielle Borriello upon the occasion of
her designation as a recipient of the 2014 Mid-Hudson Athletic League
Senior Scholar Athlete Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Danielle
Borriello upon the occasion of her designation as a recipient of the
2014 Mid-Hudson Athletic League Senior Scholar Athlete Award, which was
celebrated on May 28, 2014, at its 16th Annual Recognition Breakfast;
and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Danielle Borriello has distin-
guished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purpose-
fulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years;
and
WHEREAS, Danielle Borriello, a student at Ellenville High School in
Ellenville, New York, is ranked 13th in her class, and has participated
in various school sports including Varsity Field Hockey for four years,
Varsity Indoor Track for five years, and Varsity Spring Track for six
years; and
WHEREAS, Vice President of her Senior Class, Danielle Borriello is
involved in National Honor Society, Captain of her Indoor Track Team,
and President of Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD); and
WHEREAS, In addition to receiving the 2014 Mid-Hudson Athletic League
Senior Scholar Athlete Award, Danielle Borriello was the recipient of
the RPI Innovation and Creativity Award; and
WHEREAS, Danielle Borriello plans to attend Clemson University, major
in health sciences, and compete in track; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Danielle
Borriello has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Danielle Borriello may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and
WHEREAS, Danielle Borriello represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of
her future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Danielle Borriello upon the occasion of her designation as a
recipient of the 2014 Mid-Hudson Athletic League Senior Scholar Athlete
Award, and to wish her well in all her future endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Danielle Borriello.
