LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Nicholas Vollano upon the occasion of
his designation as a recipient of the 2014 Mid-Hudson Athletic League
Senior Scholar Athlete Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Nicholas
Vollano upon the occasion of his designation as a recipient of the 2014
Mid-Hudson Athletic League Senior Scholar Athlete Award, which was cele-
brated on May 28, 2014, at its 16th Annual Recognition Breakfast; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Nicholas Vollano has distin-
guished himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and matu-
rity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposeful-
ness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Nicholas Vollano, a student at Ellenville High School in
Ellenville, New York, is ranked 3rd in his class, and has participated
in various school sports including Varsity Football for two years,
Varsity Indoor Track for three years, and Varsity Spring Track for three
years; and
WHEREAS, Nicholas Vollano is involved in National Honor Society, and
Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD); and
WHEREAS, In addition to receiving the 2014 Mid-Hudson Athletic League
Senior Scholar Athlete Award, Nicholas Vollano was the recipient of the
RPI Innovation and Creativity Award; and
WHEREAS, Nichols Vollano plans to attend Stony Brook University, major
in psychology, and go on to medical school; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Nicholas Volla-
no has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Nicholas Vollano may stand with pride in his achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he contin-
ues his education; and
WHEREAS, Nicholas Vollano represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of
his future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Nicholas Vollano upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the 2014 Mid-Hudson Athletic League Senior Scholar Athlete Award, and
to wish him well in all his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Nicholas Vollano.
