LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Bridget McKeever upon the occasion of
her designation as a recipient of the 2014 Mid-Hudson Athletic League
Senior Scholar Athlete Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Bridget
McKeever upon the occasion of her designation as a recipient of the 2014
Mid-Hudson Athletic League Senior Scholar Athlete Award, which was cele-
brated on May 28, 2014, at its 16th Annual Recognition Breakfast; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Bridget McKeever has distin-
guished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purpose-
fulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years;
and
WHEREAS, Bridget McKeever, a student at Wallkill Senior High School in
Wallkill, New York, is ranked 3rd in her class, and has participated in
both Varsity Soccer and Varsity Basketball for four years; and
WHEREAS, Vice President of her National Honor Society, Bridget McKeev-
er has been involved in Relay for Life, Prom Committee, and the Hugh
O'Brian Youth Leadership Foundation (HOBY); and
WHEREAS, Bridget McKeever plans to attend Mt. St. Mary, major as a
Physician's Assistant, and play soccer; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Bridget McKeev-
er has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Bridget McKeever may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and
WHEREAS, Bridget McKeever represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of
her future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Bridget McKeever upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2014 Mid-Hudson Athletic League Senior Scholar Athlete Award, and
to wish her well in all her future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bridget McKeever.
