LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Webster Athletic Association Baseball
for many years of distinguished service to the Webster community
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of organizations
that are devoted to the welfare of the community and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, Athletic competition for youth enhances the moral and phys-
ical development of the young people of this State, preparing them for
the future by instilling in them the value of teamwork, encouraging a
standard of healthy living, imparting a desire for success and develop-
ing a sense of fair play, sportsmanship and competition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Webster Athletic Association Baseball (WAA, Inc.) for many years of
distinguished service to the Webster community; and
WHEREAS, Webster Athletic Association Baseball, a not-for-profit youth
baseball organization, has been serving the community for over 50 years,
and has been chartering Little League Baseball teams for 30 years; this
past year, approximately 2,000 boys and girls participated in its
programs; and
WHEREAS, While considered to be a summer sport, Webster Athletic Asso-
ciation Baseball provides year-round activities to assist kids of all
ages in continuing to develop their skills; and
WHEREAS, Special clinics, sandlot leagues, tournament teams,
summer/fall leagues, and many other activities are available to maintain
a continuous involvement in baseball; and
WHEREAS, Webster Athletic Association Baseball has leagues for kids as
young as 5-6 years old all the way through to when they graduate from
high school; and
WHEREAS, The goal of this esteemed organization is not to be the
"winningest", but to teach the fundamentals, encourage players' growth
and skill, and to have fun with the best sport in the world, baseball;
and
WHEREAS, Webster Athletic Association Baseball's program has both
house and travel divisions to teach and develop new, younger players and
to compete with the best players in the community; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to call attention
to organizations such as Webster Athletic Association Baseball which
serves to bring people together for a united purpose and serves the
recreational needs of the youth of the community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Webster Athletic Association Baseball for many years of distin-
guished service to the Webster community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Webster Athletic Association Baseball.
