LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Sandra Kafenbaum upon the occasion of
her retirement after 24 years of distinguished service to the Adelphi
New York State Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, For the past 24 years, Sandra Kafenbaum rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Adelphi New York State Breast
Cancer Hotline and Support Program; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as Counseling Coordinator, Sandra Kafenbaum
served with loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Sandra Kafenbaum was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure with the Adelphi New York State Breast
Cancer Hotline and Support Program, Sandra Kafenbaum earned the admira-
tion, esteem and affection of her colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate blend-
ing of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that demon-
strated by Sandra Kafenbaum over a lifetime of sacrifice and dedication
to others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sandra Kafenbaum upon the occasion of her retirement after 24
years of distinguished service to the Adelphi New York State Breast
Cancer Hotline and Support Program; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sandra Kafenbaum.
