LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Susan's Pleasant Pheasant Farm upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the Tourism Business of the
Year Award by the Central Catskills Chamber of Commerce on May 21, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those busi-
nesses within the State of New York which distinguish themselves through
outstanding professional behavior, corporate innovation, and enduring
commitment to the community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Susan's Pleasant Pheasant Farm upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Tourism Business of the Year Award by the Central Cats-
kills Chamber of Commerce in recognition of its exceptional leadership
and commitment to the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, Susan's Pleasant Pheasant Farm has been a favored destination
of travelers for more than 30 years; located in the small hamlet of
Halcottsville in the eastern part of Delaware County, the farm is
located just off Route 30 situated on the edge of Lake Wawaka; and
WHEREAS, James and Susan Kelly are the owners of Susan's Pleasant
Pheasant Farm, where the abundance of natural treasures unique to the
glorious Catskill Mountains can be enjoyed; and
WHEREAS, Susan's Pleasant Pheasant Farm offers a lovely setting for
visitors to experience the pleasures of paddling on the waters of Lake
Wawaka, Big Pond and Little Pond, in kayaks and canoes that can be rent-
ed throughout the season; adventure paddling is also offered on the
recently opened Pepacton Reservoir just a few miles beyond the Village
of Margaretville; and
WHEREAS, With miles of trails to hike, places to fish and a swimming
hole on the property, Susan's Pleasant Pheasant Farm is an ideal
attraction for families and people of all ages; picnickers are also
welcomed for those who wish to stop by a brook or lake; and
WHEREAS, Each day Lake Wawaka at Susan's Pleasant Pheasant Farm offers
adventure, friendship, solitude, exploration and discovery, and is the
perfect destination for those new to outdoor exploration as well as the
seasoned adventurer; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges Susan's Pleasant Pheasant Farm's success, recognizes its contrib-
utions to the local and state economies, and extends its highest commen-
dation to the corporation and its employees, fully confident that, in
its future, it will enjoy the same success which has so characterized
its past; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Susan's Pleasant Pheasant Farm upon the occasion of its desig-
nation as recipient of the Tourism Business of the Year Award by the
Central Catskills Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Susan's Pleasant Pheasant Farm.
