LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Connie's Diner upon the occasion
of celebrating 25 years of business on May 10, 2014
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the entire
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Connie's Diner upon the occasion of celebrating 25 years of busi-
ness on Saturday, May 10, 2014, in Waterloo, New York; and
WHEREAS, A chef at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, Connie
Caratozzolo opened Connie's Diner in April of 1989, in Waterloo, New
York; along with her husband, Frank, and two of their children, Carmen
and Maryann, she worked tirelessly in the kitchen with recipes handed
down by her mother; and
WHEREAS, In 1993, Paul Caratozzolo came on board, working alongside
his brother, Carmen, and five years later, Connie Caratozzolo retired;
and
WHEREAS, With its heavy vintage decor, and old fashioned ambiance,
Connie's Diner has been filmed in movies, and occasionally visited by
celebrities; and
WHEREAS, Today, Connie's Diner employs 38 individuals including nine
family members; the entire staff and Caratozzolo family relish being a
part of a family tradition whose patrons enjoy their exceptional service
and delicious food; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to honor those
businesses within the State of New York which distinguish themselves
through outstanding professional behavior, corporate innovation, and
enduring commitment to the community; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional business and its contributions to the local and
State economies, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Connie's Diner upon the occasion of celebrating 25 years of
business on Saturday, May 10, 2014; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Connie's Diner.
