LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the death of Joyce Ann Fuller, distin-
guished citizen and devoted member of her community
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Joyce Ann Fuller of Smyrna, New York died on May 20, 2014, at
the age of 79; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of the Village of Smyrna, Joyce Ann Full-
er was the clerk for the Village of Smyrna for 43 years, until she
retired in 2011; and
WHEREAS, Considered the living record of village history, Joyce Ann
Fuller was extremely proficient in adjusting to changing circumstances,
including the digitization of information, which required her to learn
to use computers; and
WHEREAS, A steadfast rock and a very warm woman, Joyce Ann Fuller was
active in the fire auxiliary, devoted to her family, and involved in her
church, the Smyrna Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, In addition, the Smyrna Band Concerts were a major part of
Joyce Ann Fuller's life, a concert on the second floor balcony of the
village hall/public library; due to her home being across the way from
village hall, individuals would use her porch as a central place to
watch the concert; and
WHEREAS, Joyce Ann Fuller distinguished herself in her profession and
by her sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
her community; and
WHEREAS, Joyce Ann Fuller's commitment to excellence, and her spirit
of humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise, including char-
itable and civic endeavors; and
WHEREAS, Joyce Ann Fuller is survived by her husband, Hartley, and
their three sons, Roy (Laura), Brad (Robin), and Gene (Cathy), as well
as a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom
feel privileged to have been a part of her life and rejoice in her
achievements; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Joyce Ann Fuller leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
she served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Joyce Ann Fuller, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of her community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Joyce Ann Fuller.
