LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Ted and Shari Sorensen for their many
years of dedicated service to Boy Scout Troop 312 of Penfield, New York
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Ted and Shari Sorensen have given not only of their time and
energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently have been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Ted and Shari
Sorensen for their many years of dedicated service to Boy Scout Troop
312 of Penfield, New York; and
WHEREAS, Troop 312, run by boys with the help of many adult supervi-
sors, is a scouting program based in Penfield, New York, within the Bay
Waters District and the Seneca Waterways Council; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1972, Troop 312 is chartered by Penfield Presbyte-
rian Church and is open to all youth in the greater Penfield area; and
WHEREAS, The focus of this valuable program is to promote the quali-
ties of citizenship, leadership, service, fellowship, outdoor steward-
ship and fitness; and
WHEREAS, Ted and Shari Sorensen have been called upon to contribute
their time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and
have always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Ted and Shari Sorensen are and have been deeply involved with
Boy Scout Troop 312 of Penfield, New York; and
WHEREAS, Ted and Shari Sorensen have served as mentors to several
scouts who were working on completing their Eagle Projects; Ted is also
a former Scoutmaster; and
WHEREAS, They are the proud parents of Gunnar Sorensen who, just this
past year, received the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout, the most
prestigious of Scouting honors; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Ted and Shari Sorensen have stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Ted and Shari Sorensen have displayed
throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ted and Shari Sorensen for their many years of dedicated service
to Boy Scout Troop 312 of Penfield, New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ted and Shari Sorensen.
