LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the Skaneateles Girls Varsity
Outdoor Track and Field Team upon the occasion of winning the Section
III Class B-1 Championship
WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be achieved
only through rigorous training, mental and physical discipline, teamwork
and a dedicated coaching staff; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
young individuals within our midst, who by achieving outstanding success
in athletic competitions, have inspired and brought pride to their
school district and community; and
WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and physical develop-
ment of the young people of this State, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the value of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, imparting a desire for success, and developing a sense
of fair play and competition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to hereby
recognize and congratulate the Skaneateles Girls Varsity Outdoor Track
and Field Team upon the occasion of winning the Section III Class B-1
Championship; and
WHEREAS, No team can succeed without talent throughout its entire
roster, as is the case for the Skaneateles Girls Varsity Outdoor Track
and Field Team: Rachel Baker, Vimmy Bandaria, Mary Buck, Nikki Cole,
Maggie Dunn, Jane Gaffney, Laura Henty, Julia Judge, Corrine LaFrance,
Madeline Adams, Anna Barnett, Ashley Bonocore, Mia Campanile, Morgann
Byrne, Alex Clark, Grace Delasin, Miranda Hagen, Virginia Hamlin, Sophie
Hearn, Morel Malcolm, Maria Schillace, Taylor Woodruff, Maggie Bensen,
Maria Christou, Sophie Darovskikh, Mallory Davis, Liz Dwyer, Keely
Gregg, Meg Lovier, Elsa Soderberg, Melissa Amory, Jordan Daley, Katelyn
Ellison, Olivia Gage, Aubreah Lynn, Kaitlyn Neal, Laurel Parker, Jillian
Van Leer, Amanda Wetmore, Raenah Campbell, and Julia Willcox; and
WHEREAS, The Skaneateles Girls Varsity Outdoor Track and Field Team
battled extreme weather conditions to clinch the Section III Class B-1
Championship win on May 21, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Over the two-day sectional meet, the Skaneateles Girls Varsi-
ty Outdoor Track and Field Team worked hard and was determined to pick
up 109 points to beat Cazenovia, as well as eight other teams to secure
the Section III Class B-1 Championship; and
WHEREAS, In addition to becoming the Section III Class B-1 Sectional
Champions, the Skaneateles Girls Varsity Outdoor Track and Field Team,
during its regular season, took seven events during the Onondaga High
School League Liberty Championship meet to easily secure that champion-
ship win; the Skaneateles Girls Varsity Outdoor Track and Field Team
ended its regular season with a 3-1 record; and
WHEREAS, The athletic talent displayed by the Skaneateles Girls Varsi-
ty Outdoor Track and Field Team is in great part due to the efforts of
Head Coach Robert Tuttle, who is a skilled and inspirational mentor,
respected for his ability to develop potential into excellence; and
WHEREAS, Athletically and academically, the outstanding players of the
Skaneateles Girls Varsity Outdoor Track and Field Team proved to be a
terrific combination of talent, posting a spectacular 2013 season; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach Tuttle did a superb job in guiding, molding and
inspiring team members of the Skaneateles Girls Varsity Outdoor Track
and Field Team toward their goals; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
recognize and congratulate the Skaneateles Girls Varsity Outdoor Track
and Field Team upon the occasion of winning the Section III Class B-1
Championship; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to each member of the Skaneateles Girls Varsity Outdoor Track
and Field Team, and Head Coach Robert Tuttle.
