LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Marian Tinari upon the occasion of her
selection as Brehon of the Year by the Brehon Society of Suffolk County
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals who substantially contribute to their
communities and careers through outreach and dedication; and
WHEREAS, Individuals such as Marian Tinari exert a strong, positive
influence in her role as counsel for the District Administrative Judge
and is an integral part of all administrative decisions which are
crucial to the court system; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Marian Tinari
upon the occasion of her selection as Brehon of the Year by the Brehon
Society of Suffolk County, an Association of Irish Lawyers, to be cele-
brated on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at the Irish Coffee Pub, East Islip,
New York; and
WHEREAS, Marian Tinari has been selected for this high honor in recog-
nition and appreciation of her ability to counsel judges and members of
the court network on issues which arise, and for her ability to manage
the system effectively in Suffolk County which has a population of 1.5
million people and a multifaceted court system; and
WHEREAS, Marian Tinari, prior to her present role, was not only an
attorney with the Suffolk County District Administrative Judge's office
but has served as Principal Law Clerk to Suffolk County Surrogate Court
Judge John Czygier, Jr.; and
WHEREAS, She joined the court system as a Law Clerk to the New York
State Court of Claims Judge Michael F. Mullen who presided over many
high profile cases that Marian Tinari had extensive involvement in; and
WHEREAS, She also served as an Assistant DA where she successfully
prosecuted numerous felony cases and had a career at Chase Manhattan
Bank where she was promoted many times; and
WHEREAS, Marian Tinari has not only been greatly successful in her
career but has also been a dedicated member of numerous organizations
and professional associations; and
WHEREAS, Marian Tinari is a past president of the Suffolk County
Brehon Society, a past co-chair of the Suffolk County Bar Association's
Court Committee, and is presently co-chair of the Suffolk County Women
in the Courts Committee, and serves on many more honorable committees
and foundations; and
WHEREAS, In addition to committee and organization membership, Marian
Tinari is a frequent lecturer concerning certain law, organizations, and
academic institutions, and is a well-regarded author who has been
published in legal periodicals about numerous judicial decisions; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Marian Tinari's dedication and devotion to her
career and organizations is both inspiring and outstanding; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges Marian Tinari for her exceptional work in her career and her dedi-
cation, fully confident that she will continue to enjoy the many sparkl-
ing successes she has achieved thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Marian Tinari upon the occasion of her selection as Brehon of the
Year by the Brehon Society of Suffolk County; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Marian Tinari.
