LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Tracy Hojohn upon the occasion of being
designated Volunteer of the Year by the Montgomery County Office for
Aging, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
the dedicated efforts of those individuals from across the State of New
York who volunteer their time and energies in service to the community;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Tracy Hojohn upon the occasion of being designated Volunteer of the Year
by the Montgomery County Office for Aging, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Since 2007, Tracy Hojohn has been a subcontractor for the
Montgomery County Office for Aging; and
WHEREAS, With her main concern being the welfare and nutrition of the
meals programs clientele, Tracy Hojohn is a compassionate and caring
person devoted to the needs of the elderly; and
WHEREAS, This remarkable woman's generosity and caring was truly
evident when a client needed a bed and Tracy Hojohn found one, then
delivered it and set it up; and
WHEREAS, Again, Tracy Hojohn's caring generosity was unmistakable when
she knew the Montgomery County Office for Aging needed kitchen tools,
and she located them and donated them, more than once; in her quest to
find the needed tools, she traveled to Johnstown, Gloversville, Schenec-
tady and Albany; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism is an essential element of all societies; it
provides a way in which the human values of community, caring and serv-
ing can be sustained and strengthened; and
WHEREAS, During the past five years, Tracy Hojohn has volunteered
hundreds of hours above and beyond her job duties, whether it was clean-
ing and organizing the kitchen, or delivering meals, she jumped in wher-
ever, whenever needed; and
WHEREAS, 2012 was a challenging year, and without Tracy Hojohn, the
Montgomery County Office for Aging might not have made such a smooth
transition with the meals program; and
WHEREAS, Tracy Hojohn's mission is to make sure every meal participant
receives a quality meal; she has often spoken to groups on her own time
about nutrition and Office for Aging services; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Tracy Hojohn is the Volunteer Animal Control
officer for the Montgomery County Office for Aging; she initiated the
trap and release program and believes no creature is too big or too
small; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism promotes family and community solidarity; most
importantly, people who volunteer their time in civic and charitable
endeavors inspire others to the call of volunteerism; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to volunteerism certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Tracy Hojohn upon the occasion of being designated Volunteer of
the Year by the Montgomery County Office for Aging, Inc.; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Tracy Hojohn.
