LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Amy Tabolt upon the occasion of
celebrating her 100th Birthday

WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to
the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their past
contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and valuable
asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Amy
Tabolt upon the occasion of celebrating her 100th Birthday with an Open
House to be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at the Marine Corp. Leag-
ue in Lowville, New York; and
WHEREAS, Amy Meister Tabolt was born at home in Deer River, New York,
to Charles and Grace Kohler Meister, on October 5, 1912; she had two
brothers, John and Roy, (now deceased) and six sisters: Anna Sullivan,
Robin L'Hullier and Vera Pratt (now deceased) Carrie Huston, and Hazel
Murphy and Milly Pelot, who will be joining in the family festivities;
and
WHEREAS, Amy Tabolt loved school and the challenges it offered; howev-
er, with the demands of a large family, she was required to quit school
at the age of 16 and help out by finding a job; and
WHEREAS, Amy married Frederick Tabolt Sr., (now deceased) and together
they raised nine wonderful children; today, this remarkable woman is the
proud grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother to a
close count of 115 children; and
WHEREAS, Amy Tabolt has always loved having her children around and
has truly been blessed with a large loving family to celebrate this
joy-filled milestone with her; and
WHEREAS, She enjoys living in her home and remains active doing cross-
word puzzles, and reading the newspaper and books; along with hobbies of
gardening and crocheting, she loves spending time with family and
friends and is devoted to her faith; and
WHEREAS, This exceptional centenarian with her zest for life, has
inspired and enhanced the lives of her family and friends; experienced
the incredible joys and sorrows characteristic of and reserved for those
with the stamina and courage to savor a fill life; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize those who have reached such a remarkable age and who have witnessed
and celebrated the innovations, cultural developments and awesome
achievements of this country during the last century, while themselves
contributing to the growth and excellence of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Amy Tabolt upon the occasion of celebrating her 100th
Birthday; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Amy Tabolt.
