LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the seven Long Island Conservatory
Bronze Presidential Volunteer Award recipients upon the occasion of
their designation for special recognition by the President's Council on
Service and Civic Participation

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the youth of
today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the seven Long
Island Conservatory Bronze Presidential Volunteer Award recipients upon
the occasion of their designation for special recognition by the Presi-
dent's Council on Service and Civic Participation, to be celebrated on
June 14, 2013; and
WHEREAS, This most prestigious award recognizes Americans of all ages
who have volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their
communities and their country; and
WHEREAS, The distinguished honorees are all Presidential Bronze volun-
teer award winners for areas such as Manhassett, Herrick, Searington and
other surrounding towns; they are: Sharon Choi, Sena Woo, Nawon Choi,
Lauren Lee, Grace Kim, Christine Yoo, and Albert Kim; and
WHEREAS, These students are receiving the Bronze Award for community
service by providing concerts, dance presentations and music throughout
their communities; and
WHEREAS, The President's Council on Service and Civic Participation
was established in 2003 to recognize the valuable contributions volun-
teers are making in our communities and encourage more people to serve;
the Council created the President's Volunteer Service Award program as a
way to thank and honor Americans who inspire others to engage in volun-
teer service; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved to honor these students,
commending them for their outstanding record of volunteer service, peer
leadership, and community service and recognizing the value of their
labors and the promise of their future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, with
praise and pride, to honor the seven Long Island Conservatory Bronze
Presidential Volunteer Award recipients upon the occasion of their
designation for special recognition by the President's Council on
Service and Civic Participation; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the aforementioned honorees.
