LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Courtney Luskin upon the occasion of her
designation as 2013-2014 New York State Dairy Princess

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose lives, personal endeavors and community
service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues, friends, and
family; and
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, It is also the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize
and pay tribute to those individuals whose civic endeavors have enhanced
the quality of their community in the great State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor
Courtney Luskin upon the occasion of her designation as 2013-2014 New
York State Dairy Princess; and
WHEREAS, On Tuesday, February 19, 2013, Courtney Luskin of Hoosic
Valley High School was crowned the 2013-2014 New York State Dairy Prin-
cess at the Holiday Inn in Liverpool, New York; and
WHEREAS, Courtney Luskin, who has been Rensselaer County Dairy Prin-
cess since the spring of 2012, will devote another year to promoting
milk and dairy products with the American Dairy Association and Dairy
Council; and
WHEREAS, As state princess, Courtney Luskin will receive a scholarship
and represent the organization at county dairy princess pageants, farm
meetings and special events; she will help train new county promoters at
seminars and workshops; and
WHEREAS, Nineteen county dairy princesses competed in the state
pageant, which included a personal interview, an impromptu and prepared
speech, a product knowledge test, a writing skills test and informal
interaction with others; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication which Courtney
Luskin has demonstrated in achieving the title of 2013-2014 New York
State Dairy Princess; she has stood constant in dignity, good grace and
humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when an indi-
vidual of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our atten-
tion, she should be recognized by all the citizens of this great Empire
State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Courtney Luskin upon the occasion of her designation as 2013-2014
New York State Dairy Princess; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Courtney Luskin.
