LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Angelina Rose Dutcher upon the occa-
sion of her designation by the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New
York as one of its 2013 Winning Kids at its 25th Annual Confections in
Chocolate Gala

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that the quality and
character of life in the communities across New York State are reflec-
tive of the concerned and dedicated efforts of organizations and indi-
viduals who devote themselves to the welfare of the community and its
citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Angelina Rose Dutcher upon the occasion of her designation by the
Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York as one of its 2013 Winning
Kids at its 25th Annual Confections in Chocolate Gala, to be held at
Wolferts Roost Country Club in Albany, New York, on Saturday, March 9,
2013; and
WHEREAS, The Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York works dili-
gently to ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in
all life experiences and to prevent, control and cure epilepsy through
services, education, advocacy and research; and
WHEREAS, Each year the Epilepsy Foundation selects one or two children
to represent all children with epilepsy in Northeastern New York;
"Winning Kids" symbolizes the spirit and courage that all children with
epilepsy display in dealing with their seizures; Angelina Rose Dutcher
was chosen because of the positive attitude that she maintains despite
the many struggles and treatments she has endured to control her
seizures, including surgery; and
WHEREAS, Angelina Rose Dutcher enjoys all sports and participates in
special soccer and baseball leagues; she is also training in the martial
arts; and
WHEREAS, As residents of Northeastern New York face the physical,
emotional and social uncertainties of epilepsy everyday, the Epilepsy
Foundation is there to help them become happy, self-confident, produc-
tive adults, by offering them, as well as their friends, families and
caregivers a variety of programs; and
WHEREAS, Epilepsy affects two percent of the population, and approxi-
mately one in fifty children; and
WHEREAS, Angelina Rose Dutcher, the daughter of Nolan Dutcher and
Melissa Sangi, a ten year old student at the Windham-Ashland-Jewitt
Elementary School, truly merits this high honor; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model, Angelina Rose Dutcher has brought
honor to her family, school and community and may stand with pride in
her achievements; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
recognize Angelina Rose Dutcher as a Winning Kid and to wish her well in
all her future endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Angelina Rose Dutcher upon the occasion of her designation by
the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York as one of its 2013
Winning Kids at its 25th Annual Confections in Chocolate Gala; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Angelina Rose Dutcher.
