LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the Schoharie County Chamber of
Commerce upon the occasion of its 25th Anniversary, March 15, 2013

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals that are devoted to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Individuals and organizations who give of their time and
energies and serve the best interests of their communities are an asset
beyond remuneration and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce upon the occasion of its
25th Anniversary; this auspicious occasion will be celebrated at the
annual dinner meeting of the Chamber, to be held on Friday, March 15,
2013, at Caverns Palace Restaurant in Howes Cave, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce developed out of the
Cobleskill Area Chamber of Commerce in January 1987; it was incorporated
on July 23,1987, and had 103 initial members; and
WHEREAS, From its inception, the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce
has been instrumental in improving the working environment for busi-
nesses by active involvement in legislative issues, presenting small
business workshops, addressing agricultural issues and offering health
insurance benefits and energy assistance to its members; the Chamber
also ably represented Schoharie County in the "I Love NY" tourism
program; and
WHEREAS, The Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce was extraordinarily
active in assisting its members and the community during and in the
aftermath of Hurricane Irene; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce's 25
years of outstanding service, it has addressed important issues, includ-
ing education, economic development, business legislation, county promo-
tional activities and improved member services; and
WHEREAS, The Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce currently serves 250
members; and
WHEREAS, The 25th Anniversary of the Schoharie County Chamber of
Commerce presents an auspicious and unique opportunity for this Legisla-
tive Body to recognize and pay tribute to this outstanding organization;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
organizations such as the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce which
serve to bring people together for the united purpose of actively pursu-
ing improvements in their communities; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce upon the occasion
of its 25th Anniversary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce.
