LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Carver Sand and Gravel upon the occasion
of its designation as 2012 Business of the Year by the Schoharie County
Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals that are devoted to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Individuals and organizations that give of their time and
energies and serve the best interests of their communities are an asset
beyond remuneration and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Carver Sand and Gravel upon the occasion of its designation as 2012
Business of the Year by the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce; this
auspicious occasion will be celebrated at the annual dinner meeting of
the chamber, to be held on Friday, March 15, 2013, at Caverns Palace
Restaurant in Howes Cave, New York; and
WHEREAS, Carver Sand and Gravel is a part of the Carver Construction
Company founded in 1989 by owner Carver Laraway; and
WHEREAS, Purchased by the Carver Construction Company in 1995, Carver
Sand and Gravel has grown to become the leading supplier of high quality
crushed stone, sand, gravel and asphalt products to state, federal and
local municipalities, large and small contractors and private customers;
and
WHEREAS, The large modern fleet of dump trucks and trailers of Carver
Sand and Gravel deliver products to its customers in a safe, courteous,
and efficient manner; its sales, production, and transportation teams
work together to fulfill every order, big or small, and are able to
supply customers near and far; and
WHEREAS, Carver Sand and Gravel focuses on maintaining the environment
for generations to come; it is well known as a company that cares about
its employees, as well as the people in the community; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Carver Sand and
Gravel; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those organiza-
tions that enhance the well-being and vitality of the community, and
have shown a long and sustained commitment to excellence, certainly have
earned the recognition and applause of all citizens of this great Empire
State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Carver Sand and Gravel upon the occasion of its designation as
2012 Business of the Year by the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Carver Sand and Gravel.
