LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Eileen Ernst upon the occasion of her
designation as the Volunteer Extraordinaire by the United Way of Sulli-
van County

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those individuals who have shown a long-standing commitment
to improving the quality of life in their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Eileen Ernst upon the occasion of her designation as the Volunteer
Extraordinaire by the United Way of Sullivan County, to be celebrated on
Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Bernie's Holiday Restaurant in Rock Hill, New
York; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Rock Hill, Eileen Ernst has been active in
United Way of Sullivan County for more than 30 years, giving freely of
her time and energy to serve as both an enthusiastic volunteer and a
dedicated trustee; in addition to United Way, she also has a long histo-
ry as a hospital volunteer, beginning at Arden Hill Hospital in Goshen
more than forty years ago and continuing to her current and ongoing
thirty-five years of service at Catskill Regional Medical Center, where
she also helped run the gift shop for six years; and
WHEREAS, Eileen Ernst is active in Hospice of Orange and Sullivan
Counties and also with her church, Our Lady of the Assumption in Bloom-
ingburg, where she helps with the food pantry; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Bob, their chil-
dren, Chris, Stephen, and Nancy, as well as their eight grandchildren,
all of whom feel privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her
achievements; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Eileen Ernst's distinguished record
merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative Body;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Eileen Ernst upon the occasion of her designation as the Volunteer
Extraordinaire by the United Way of Sullivan County; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Eileen Ernst.
