LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Mark Harris upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Outstanding Service Award by Penfield
Volunteer Emergency Ambulance

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who give
outstanding service to the people of the Empire State, and whose
extraordinary achievements save the lives of their fellow citizens,
should be recognized because their efforts so profoundly strengthen our
shared commitment to family and community life; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Mark
Harris upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Outstanding Service Award by Penfield Volunteer Emergency Ambulance, to
be celebrated at its annual banquet on Saturday, March 16, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the
survival and recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness or
injury; and
WHEREAS, Volunteer ambulance corps members are an important part of
the safety net of America's healthcare system; they provide lifesaving
care to those in need, 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and
WHEREAS, Members of the Penfield Volunteer Emergency Ambulance Service
are required to comply with exacting professional standards; they give
of their valuable time to both learn the lifesaving methods to keep
their fellow man alive, and to learn security measures in an age when
security is vitally important to our Nation and this great Empire State;
and
WHEREAS, In receiving the Outstanding Service Award, Mark Harris has
been granted Penfield Volunteer Emergency Ambulance's highest honor;
this award recognizes a member who has consistently worked to maintain
the integrity and vision of Penfield Volunteer Emergency Ambulance; and
WHEREAS, In the performance of his duties, Mark Harris has demon-
strated his character and his compassion for the welfare of others; he
is a tremendous asset to Penfield Volunteer Emergency Ambulance and a
distinguished citizen of the State and Nation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mark Harris upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Outstanding Service Award by Penfield Volunteer Emergency Ambulance;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mark Harris.
