LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring John O'Brien and Kevin O'Brien upon the
occasion of their designation as recipients of the J. Walter Juckett
Community Service Award by the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor John
O'Brien and Kevin O'Brien upon the occasion of their designation as
recipients of the J. Walter Juckett Community Service Award by the
Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated at its 99th
Annual Awards Banquet on Thursday, March 7, 2013; and
WHEREAS, This special event will be held at Heritage Hall in the Glens
Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, New York; and
WHEREAS, The J. Walter Juckett Award is named for the late chairman of
the former Sandy Hill Corporation who was well known for his decades of
public service and philanthropy; and
WHEREAS, Brothers, John O'Brien and Kevin O'Brien own and operate
O'Brien Insurance in Glens Falls; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Glens Falls, New York, John O'Brien holds a
Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Niagara University; and
WHEREAS, John O'Brien has volunteered with the Open Door Mission,
House of Grace of the Adirondacks, Glens Falls Family YMCA, Glens Falls
Foundation, Prospect Child and Family Center and St. Mary's Parish Coun-
cil; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Queensbury, New York, Kevin O'Brien holds a
Bachelor of Science degree in Business from SUNY Brockport; and
WHEREAS, Kevin O'Brien serves on the board of directors of Tri-County
United Way, the Glens Falls Home, the Glen at Hiland Meadows and the
Glens Falls Hospital Foundation; he is the past president of the Glens
Falls Rotary Club and is on the Insurance Agents Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor John O'Brien and Kevin O'Brien upon the occasion of their desig-
nation as recipients of the J. Walter Juckett Community Service Award by
the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to John O'Brien and Kevin O'Brien.
