LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Robert Galluscio upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the Distinguished Citizen of the Year
Award
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Robert Galluscio has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Robert Gallus-
cio upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Distin-
guished Citizen of the Year Award, to be celebrated on Thursday, May 7,
2015, at Gallagher's Restaurant in New York City; and
WHEREAS, Robert Galluscio has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Born in the Bronx in 1954 as one of seven children, Robert
Galluscio and his family moved north to Germantown in the summer of
1969; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Germantown Central School, Robert Galluscio
went on to Fordham University where he earned a bachelor's degree in
Accounting in 1976; two weeks prior to his college graduation, Robert
Galluscio began working for Dom Shallo's accounting firm in Hudson, New
York; and
WHEREAS, A Certified Public Accountant, Robert Galluscio became a
partner in Shallo, Galluscio, Bianchi & Fucito, Certified Public
Accountants, P.C., where he worked for 37 years until his retirement in
2012; and
WHEREAS, Active within his community, Robert Galluscio is past presi-
dent of United Way of Columbia County and the Hudson Jaycees; he has
served as a Columbia County Chamber of Commerce Board Member, Claverack
Planning Board Member, as well as Board Member of Columbia County Indus-
trial Development Agency; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Robert Galluscio has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife of 35 years, Denise,
their three children, Lynn (Hugh), Robbie (Amanda) and Steven, as well
as their two grandchildren, Ruby and Addie, all of whom feel privileged
to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Robert Galluscio has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Robert Galluscio upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Robert Galluscio.
