LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Midwood Active Adult Program upon
the occasion of hosting its Annual Volunteer Recognition Celebration on
April 17, 2015, and paying special tribute to this year's honorees

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Midwood Active Adult Program upon the occasion of hosting its Annual
Volunteer Recognition Celebration on Friday, April 17, 2015, in Brook-
lyn, New York, and to pay special tribute to this year's honorees; and
WHEREAS, This Annual event is sponsored by Millennium Development, and
funded by the New York City Department for the Aging; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion recognizes the 2015 Volunteers of
the Midwood Active Adult Program which include: Marianne Clemens, Gil
Garbow, Ben Clemens, Elfreda Chaplin, Ketly Matthew, Claudia Saul,
Earline Slyvester, Joan Hay, Pat Serao, Ismay Williams, Dulce Joseph,
Elba Rojas, Eula Dixon, Pat Samuels, Daisy Peters, Marie Neree, Nadia
Hilly, Margaret Rampersad, J. Ishbelle Richardson, Mavis Whitmore, Vera
Charles, Daniel Lundy, Charlie Napoli, and Joseph DeSena; and
WHEREAS, Older New Yorkers bring their special wisdom, experience and
enthusiasm to countless endeavors, helping to shape and strengthen the
character of our communities and the quality of our lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the
senior citizens of the Empire State who, as they reach the fullness of
years, continue to be active and vital participants in the life of their
community; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body that when indi-
viduals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Midwood Active Adult Program upon the occasion of hosting
its Annual Volunteer Recognition Celebration on April 17, 2015, and to
pay special tribute to this year's honorees; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Midwood Active Adult Program.
