LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Sherri and Glen L. Heller, Esq. for
their many years of support and contributions to the Hospice of Orange
and Sullivan Counties, Inc. on March 28, 2015
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary individuals and businesses it wishes to recognize for
their valued contributions to the success and progress of society and
publicly acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic
humanity among us all; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Sherri and
Glen L. Heller, Esq. for their many years of support and contributions
to the Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc., to be celebrated
at the organization's Starry Night Gala on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at
Anthony's Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and
WHEREAS, Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties provides support and
care for persons in the final stages of their lives, helping them live
out their remaining days with dignity and comfort; and
WHEREAS, Sherri and Glen L. Heller, Esq. are being recognized for
their many years of support to the Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Coun-
ties, along with their unwavering dedication to helping Hospice carry
out its mission; and
WHEREAS, Glen L. Heller, Esq. first became associated with Hospice as
an attorney for the organization in 1988, and soon after became a member
of its Board of Directors; he served as Chairman of the Board from 1997
to 1999, and more recently, as Treasurer; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore Glen L. Heller, Esq. has been the sole chair of
the Annual Hospice Golf Event since its inception over two decades ago;
and
WHEREAS, Sherri Heller has served on the Hospice Auxiliary and on
numerous Hospice Gala committees; she has also been an active supporter
of her husband's commitment to the organization for many years; and
WHEREAS, Today, this esteemed couple continue to be important benefac-
tors of Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties; they have strongly
supported Hospice in building the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, and
are both members of the Circle of Life Giving Society; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Sherri and Glen L. Heller, Esq. have
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Sherri and Glen L. Heller, Esq. have
displayed throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sherri and Glen L. Heller, Esq. for their many years of support
and contributions to the Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc.;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sherri and Glen L. Heller, Esq.
