LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Denise Shay-Krol upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by the Kings County American
Legion on April 12, 2015
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Denise Shay-Krol has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Denise Shay-
Krol upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Kings County American Legion, to be celebrated at its Annual Baseball
Banquet Dinner and Journal on Sunday, April 12, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Called upon to contribute her time and talents to countless
civic and charitable endeavors, Denise Shay-Krol has always given of
herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Denise Shay-Krol serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors
as well as the Director of Administration and Business Relationships for
Meridian Technologies, Inc., a fiber-optic manufacturing company located
in Elmont, New York; and
WHEREAS, An esteemed attorney for 20 years, Denise Shay-Krol provides
Meridian Technologies with responsible leadership and directs the compa-
ny's corporate activities with the National Women's Business Owners
Corporation, the National Minority Business Council, the United States
Women's Chamber of Commerce, and the Business Council of New York State;
and
WHEREAS, In addition, she has served on the steering committee for the
Homeland Security Council of New York State, which is a working network
of the Business Council of New York State, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, In an effort to pay just tribute to her late husband, Jack
Krol, Denise Shay-Krol has given tirelessly of herself to his youth
baseball team, the New York Warriors, a non-profit organization where
local children can learn and enjoy the fundamentals of baseball; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Denise Shay-Krol has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Denise Shay-Krol has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her three beautiful children,
Domini, Brandon and Ashley, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of
her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Denise Shay-Krol upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Kings County American Legion on April 12, 2015; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Denise Shay-Krol.
