LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Richard Guido upon the occasion of his
designation as a 2015 SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame
inductee as Student Leader of the Year

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the youth of
today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Richard Guido upon the occasion of his designation as a 2015 SUNY New
Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame inductee as Student Leader of the
Year, to be celebrated with an Induction Ceremony on Thursday, May 14,
2015, at the Wiltwyck Golf Club, Kingston, New York; and
WHEREAS, A young man of singular distinction, Richard Guido has
distinguished himself as an individual of superlative ability, estab-
lishing a high standard of academic excellence and purposefulness of
life rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, A model student at the State University of New York at New
Paltz, Richard Guido has achieved tremendous success as a scholar, a
leader and an athlete; and
WHEREAS, Richard Guido has truly made his mark through his involve-
ment, leadership and teamwork in the American Marketing Association
(AMA) where he applied his outstanding finance and organizational
skills; and
WHEREAS, Elected Vice President of Finance in his first year, Richard
Guido was subsequently elected as Executive Vice President in year two,
followed by President in his third year with the college; his steadfast
efforts were instrumental in the New Paltz AMA chapter receiving the
Bronze Chapter Award in 2012-13 as well as the Silver Collegiate Chapter
Award in 2013-2014 at the International AMA competition in New Orleans;
and
WHEREAS, For two years, Richard Guido has given tirelessly of his time
and energy to lead the AMA Consultancy Team; during this time, he has
worked with students as well as members of the business community to
implement marketing plans and programs which will enrich the lives of
those around him; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this esteemed young man serves as the President
of the Dean's Student Advisory Board and President of Beta Gamma Sigma,
the Business honor society; he is also a member of the athletic honor
society, Chi Alpha Sigma; and
WHEREAS, A member of the SUNY Athletic Conference Commissioner's List,
Richard Guido is the captain of the college's baseball team; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved to honor Richard Guido, a
young man and able scholar, recognizing the value of his labors and the
promise of his future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Richard Guido upon the occasion of his designation as a 2015 SUNY
New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame inductee as Student Leader of
the Year, to commend him for his outstanding academic achievement and to
extend to him the best wishes of this Legislative Body for a future of
purposeful success and well-being, fully confident of his response to a
promising future and appreciative of the model he represents for all
aspiring young people of the Empire State; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Richard Guido.
