LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Robert Siracusano upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the 2015 SUNY New Paltz Dean's Award for
Excellence and his induction into its School of Business Hall of Fame

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Robert Siracusano upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2015 SUNY New Paltz Dean's Award for Excellence and his induction
into its School of Business Hall of Fame, to be celebrated with an
Induction Ceremony on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at the Wiltwyck Golf Club,
Kingston, New York; and
WHEREAS, A man of singular distinction, Robert Siracusano has contin-
ually demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence and
diligent leadership in his unwavering service to both his community and
profession and consequently has been selected for this most prestigious
honor; and
WHEREAS, Robert Siracusano, owner of Sawyer Motors in Saugerties, New
York, is a champion of community service and philanthropy; truly dedi-
cated to his community, this esteemed man has organized countless
events, fundraisers and activities designed to improve life for those
around him; and
WHEREAS, In 2004, Robert Siracusano established the Sawyer Motors Car
Show, a fundraising event with proceeds going to local charities and
which appealed to his two passions, cars and community service; and
WHEREAS, Today, under the luminous direction of Robert Siracusano, the
Sawyer Motors Car Show has grown tremendously and has raised an extraor-
dinary amount of funds for countless organizations including the Sauger-
ties Boys and Girls Club; in addition, he began a tradition of giving
away toys and bikes to local children at the Annual Saugerties Holiday
in the Village; and
WHEREAS, Robert Siracusano is also the founder of the Sawyer Motors
Foundation, an organization which raises funds and distributes them to
people in need throughout the community; and
WHEREAS, The recipient of numerous awards and accolades, Robert Sira-
cusano was recognized in 2014, when he was awarded the Heart of Ulster
County Award by the Ulster Chamber of Commerce; he was also designated
the Saugerties Area Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year in
2012; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Robert Siracusano has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Robert Siracusano has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Robert Siracusano upon the occasion of his designation as recipi-
ent of the 2015 SUNY New Paltz Dean's Award for Excellence and his
induction into its School of Business Hall of Fame, and to wish to him
continued success in all of his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Robert Siracusano.
