LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Ted Clark upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2015 SUNY New Paltz Lifetime Achievement
Award and his induction into its School of Business Hall of Fame
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Ted
Clark upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2015 SUNY
New Paltz Lifetime Achievement Award and his induction into its School
of Business Hall of Fame, to be celebrated with an Induction Ceremony on
Thursday, May 14, 2015, at the Wiltwyck Golf Club, Kingston, New York;
and
WHEREAS, A man of singular distinction, Ted Clark has continually
demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence and diligent
leadership in his unwavering service to both his community and profes-
sion and consequently has been selected for this most prestigious honor;
and
WHEREAS, Ted Clark has served the School of Business for 30 years with
distinction, demonstrating an exemplary commitment to service and to the
field of Marketing Education; and
WHEREAS, During his time with the American Management Association
(AMA), the Business Institute, and various committees within the school
and the college, Ted Clark has demonstrated exemplary leadership and
commitment to the mission of SUNY New Paltz; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious career, Ted Clark has been recog-
nized with countless awards and accolades some of which include the
Provost's Outstanding Faculty Service Award, the Teacher of the Year
Award from the SUNY New Paltz Alumni Association, the School of Business
Distinguished Service Award and the 2008 AMA Advisor of the Year Award;
and
WHEREAS, As advisor for the American Management Association, Ted Clark
has led the organization to remarkable levels of success; in 2014, AMA
was awarded silver status, finishing in the top eight schools at its
International Collegiate Conference; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast commitment to AMA, Ted Clark has led its
student leaders with enthusiasm and strong leadership, assisting them in
the planning and implementation of a wide variety of workshops and
conferences; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Ted Clark has been instrumental in developing
connections to the business community which have yielded a variety of
consulting projects for faculty and students through both AMA and the
Business Institute; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Ted Clark has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Ted Clark has displayed throughout
his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ted Clark upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
2015 SUNY New Paltz Lifetime Achievement Award and his induction into
its School of Business Hall of Fame, and to wish him continued success
in all of his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ted Clark.
