LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Leonard Boccia upon the occasion of his
designation as a 2015 SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame
inductee as Alumnus of the Year
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Leonard Boccia upon the occasion of his designation as a 2015 SUNY New
Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame inductee as Alumnus of the Year,
to be celebrated with an Induction Ceremony on Thursday, May 14, 2015,
at the Wiltwyck Golf Club, Kingston, New York; and
WHEREAS, A man of singular distinction, Leonard Boccia has continually
demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence and diligent
leadership in his unwavering service to both his community and profes-
sion and consequently has been selected for this most prestigious honor;
and
WHEREAS, Leonard Boccia is a 1989 graduate of the New Paltz School of
Business and a true role model for its students and alumni; in addition
to a degree in Finance and Marketing, this esteemed man holds his Series
7 and 63 securities registrations, as well as variable insurance
licenses for the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, As a wealth management advisor for Wells Fargo, Leonard
Boccia has established an outstanding record of success; he has been
ranked by Barron's as a top advisor in the United States and is ranked
in the top 100 advisors by Wells Fargo; and
WHEREAS, Leonard Boccia began his illustrious career as a Financial
Advisor for W.J. Nolan where he eventually became a partner of the
company; prior to joining Wells Fargo Advisors in 2005, he was the
Senior Vice-President of Investments for Advest, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast commitment to give back to his alma mater,
Leonard Boccia serves as the SUNY New Paltz Foundation Board Vice Chair
where he truly advocates for the college and its students; and
WHEREAS, In addition, he frequents the college, speaking to student
groups, offering real world insight into course subject matter as well
as providing advice and true mentorship to the next generation of busi-
ness leaders; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his loving wife, and their two
beautiful children, Olivia and Evan, all of whom feel privileged to be a
part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Leonard Boccia has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Leonard Boccia has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Leonard Boccia upon the occasion of his designation as a 2015 SUNY
New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame inductee as Alumnus of the
Year, and to wish him continued success in all of his future endeavors;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Leonard Boccia.
