LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the Susquehanna Valley Central
School Girls Varsity Basketball Team upon the occasion of capturing the
New York State Class B Championship

WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can only be
achieved through strenuous practice, team play, and team spirit,
nurtured by dedicated coaching and strategic planning; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize those
young people within our community, who, by achieving outstanding success
in athletic competitions, have inspired and brought pride to their
school district and community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late the Susquehanna Valley Central School Girls Varsity Basketball Team
upon the occasion of capturing the New York State Class B Championship
on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Hudson Valley Community College, Troy,
New York; and
WHEREAS, The Susquehanna Valley Sabers won their first Class B Title
in school history with an exciting 51-45 victory over Hoosick Falls
Central School; and
WHEREAS, The athletic talent displayed by this team is due in great
part to the efforts of Coach Chad Freije and his staff, skilled and
inspirational mentors, respected for their ability to develop potential
into excellence; together, they have done a superb job in guiding, mold-
ing, and inspiring the squad members toward their goals; and
WHEREAS, The team's overall record of 19-5 is outstanding, and the
team members were loyally and enthusiastically supported by family
members, fans, and the community at large; and
WHEREAS, The hallmarks of the Sabers from the opening competition of
the season to participation in the championship, were an extraordinary
combination of athletic ability, of good sportsmanship, of honor and of
scholarship, demonstrating these team members are second to none; and
WHEREAS, Athletically and academically, the team members have proven
themselves to be an unbeatable combination of talents, reflecting favor-
ably on their school; and
WHEREAS, Sports competition instills the values of teamwork, pride and
accomplishment, and Coach Chad Freije, and the Susquehanna Valley
Central School Girls Varsity Basketball Team's outstanding athletes have
clearly made a contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a
tradition of their school; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize those high school athletes who have achieved notable success in
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Susquehanna Valley Central School Girls Varsity Basket-
ball Team; its members: Maeve Donnelly, Alexis Drake, Paige Finch,
Olivia Gorman, Lindsay Gregory, Mallory Gregory, Hannah Haskell, Michae-
la Haskell, Caitlyn Knapp, Courtney Knapp, Shayna Lee, Holly Manchester,
Erin Nolan, and Jordyn Williams; Coach Chad Freije, and Assistant Coach-
es Ray Haskell, Allison Haskell, and Zachary Bowen on their outstanding
season and overall team record; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Susquehanna Valley Central School Girls Varsity Basket-
ball Team, and Coach Chad Freije.
