LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Barbara Collie upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition after 55 years of dedicated
service to the North Lindenhurst Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary
WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and the great
State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good works
of those patriotic and civic-minded community members who dedicate their
lives and careers to the service of others; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Barbara
Collie upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition
after 55 years of dedicated service to the North Lindenhurst Fire
Department Ladies Auxiliary, to be celebrated at its 58th Annual Instal-
lation Dinner on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at the East Wind Caterers in
Wading River, New York; and
WHEREAS, In 1960, Barbara Collie joined the North Lindenhurst Fire
Department Ladies Auxiliary shortly after it was created, and was
actively involved in its development; and
WHEREAS, The members of this worthy organization provide nourishment
to firefighters during emergency incidents, and are always ready to
support and fulfill the needs of the fire department; Barbara Collie is
one such individual; and
WHEREAS, In 1978, Barbara Collie's husband, Alexander, was a Deputy
Chief at the time of his line of duty passing; and
WHEREAS, Members of ladies auxiliary groups from across the State of
New York work tirelessly to provide support to our fire departments and
to aid our volunteer firefighters in many capacities; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Collie is deserving of the highest commendation of
this Legislative Body for her commitment to the Lindenhurst Fire Depart-
ment, as she has helped to advance the perception of her community as a
caring and united community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Barbara Collie upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition after 55 years of dedicated service to the North Lindenhurst
Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Barbara Collie.
