LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Robyn and Stanley Kopilow upon the
occasion of their designation for special recognition by Temple Israel
on May 2, 2015

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Robyn and Stanley Kopilow have given not only of their time
and energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leadership
and consequently have been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Robyn and
Stanley Kopilow upon the occasion of their designation for special
recognition by Temple Israel, to be celebrated at its 2015 Gala Journal
Event, The Music of the Night, on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at the Carlyle
of Lawrence, Lawrence, New York; and
WHEREAS, In 1959, Stan Kopilow was registered for religious school
instruction at Temple Israel; two years later, he was Bar Mitzvahed by
Rabbi Joel Zion and Cantor David Benedict, and was then confirmed before
graduating from Temple Israel Religious School; and
WHEREAS, In 1977, Robyn and Stan Kopilow were happily married in
Temple Israel; Robyn later received her adult Bat Mitzvah from Rabbi
Alan Damov; and
WHEREAS, Both Robyn and Stan Kopilow have been active members of
Temple Israel for numerous years; Stan has been a participant of the
Board of Trustees for over 30 years, and at one time, held the position
of First Vice President of Temple Israel; and
WHEREAS, With them throughout have been their three sons, Evan, Alex,
and Benjamin, all of whom were Bar Mitzvahed, confirmed, and graduated
from Temple Israel Hebrew High School; their three children feel privi-
leged to be a part of their lives and rejoice in their achievements; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Robyn and Stanley Kopilow have stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Robyn and Stanley Kopilow upon the occasion of their designation
for special recognition by Temple Israel on May 2, 2015; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Robyn and Stanley Kopilow.
