LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Jeremy Martelle upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the Community Spirit Award by the Beth-
lehem Chamber of Commerce
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Jeremy Martelle has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Jeremy
Martelle upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Commu-
nity Spirit Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce to be celebrated
at its 30th Annual Awards Dinner on Friday, April 17, 2015, at the
Cyprus Shrine Center, Glenmont, New York; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1957, the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce works
on a local and regional level to advance economic development and foster
a positive business environment; it offers resources for residents,
business, recreation and relocation in Bethlehem and the surrounding
region; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Delmar, New York, Jeremy Martelle is highly
active in the Bethlehem community through his involvement with a variety
of organizations, in addition to having a full-time career in aviation;
and
WHEREAS, Currently, Jeremy Martelle is the President of the Bethlehem
Soccer Club, an organization which provides opportunities for youth of
all levels to play and enjoy the game of soccer while building players'
full potential through volunteer efforts, professional leadership, high
quality coaching, and outstanding facilities; and
WHEREAS, Jeremy Martelle also serves as Commander of the American
Legion Nathaniel Adams Blanchard Post 1040 in Delmar, after proudly
serving for over 20 years as a member of the United States Air Force
Reserves; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Jeremy Martelle is active on the Town of
Bethlehem's Delaware Avenue Improvement Committee, and recently
completed a long-standing term as Vice President on the Bethlehem Public
Library Board of Trustees, and also as a member of the School's Out Inc.
Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, Jeremy Martelle has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Jeremy Martelle has been known as a
leader who is always willing to listen, roll up his sleeves and get the
job done; his involvement with each of these organizations has resulted
in the continued betterment of the Bethlehem community; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Jeremy Martelle has displayed
throughout his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Jeremy Martelle upon the occasion of his designation as recipi-
ent of the Community Spirit Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jeremy Martelle.
