LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Fred Weisser upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2015 Business Person of the Year Award
by the Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals that are devoted to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Fred
Weisser upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2015
Business Person of the Year Award by the Herkimer County Chamber of
Commerce, to be celebrated at its 47th Annual Membership Meeting and
Luncheon on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Francesca's Banquet Facility,
Ilion, New York; and
WHEREAS, At the age of 15, Fred Weisser, the son of Bob and Roseanne
Weisser, began working in the family jewelry business; he spent his time
and energies working diligently to become a master jeweler by the age of
22; and
WHEREAS, For over 33 years, Weisser's Jewelers has been serving the
Mohawk Valley community; today, Fred Weisser is in his 25th year serving
as the valley's outstanding jeweler; and
WHEREAS, Active in his community as well as his profession, Fred Weis-
ser is a Trustee for the Village of Herkimer, a position he earned due
to the remarkable trust and reputation he has earned over his 25 years
of doing business in the village; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Fred Weisser is extremely active in the Business
and Professional Association of Herkimer; currently, he has been spend-
ing countless hours planning the Herkimer Diamond Festival and Gem Show
to be held in summer 2015, in the Village of Herkimer; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Jennifer, and their
two sons, Ethan and Collin, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of
his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
and
WHEREAS, With his proven business leadership abilities and his evident
dedication to his community, Fred Weisser is the quintessential
selection for the prestigious Business Person of the Year Award; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Fred Weisser upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2015 Business Person of the Year Award by the Herkimer County Cham-
ber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Fred Weisser.
