LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Suzanne Orofino Galbato upon the occa-
sion of her designation as a 2015 Inductee into the Auburn Alumni Hall
of Distinction, on May 15, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Suzanne Orofino Galbato upon the occasion of her designation as a 2015
Inductee into the Auburn Alumni Hall of Distinction, to be celebrated at
an Induction Ceremony on Friday, May 15, 2015, at the Hilton Garden Inn,
Auburn, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Auburn Alumni Hall of Distinction was established in
2012, by the Auburn Education Foundation, to recognize, honor and cele-
brate graduates who have distinguished themselves through outstanding
academic, professional, or civic achievements and to inspire current
students to pursue a path towards personal success; and
WHEREAS, A woman of singular merit, Suzanne Orofino Galbato, Auburn
High Class of 1991, has continually demonstrated tremendous competence,
extraordinary intelligence and diligent leadership in her unwavering
service to both her community and her profession and consequently has
been selected for this most prestigious honor; and
WHEREAS, Valedictorian Suzanne Orofino Galbato graduated from Auburn
High School in 1991; she then earned her undergraduate degree in History
and Science magna cum laude from Harvard University, Cambridge, Massa-
chusetts in 1995; and
WHEREAS, In 1998, Suzanne Orofino Galbato graduated summa cum laude
from the Syracuse University College of Law, Syracuse, New York; and
WHEREAS, After graduating, Suzanne Orofino Galbato was employed as a
Law Clerk to the Honorable Rosemary S. Pooler of the United States Court
of Appeals for the Second Circuit for two years; and
WHEREAS, In 2000, Suzanne Orofino Galbato began practicing law at
Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC in Syracuse; her legal work encompasses a
wide array of litigation for a variety of clients in New York state
courts and in federal courts across the country, including multi-dis-
trict litigation and class action lawsuits; and
WHEREAS, Suzanne Orofino Galbato represents clients in matters
concerning the federal civil fraud statute known as the False Claims
Act; she also counsels and defends school districts in special education
matters; and
WHEREAS, At her current law practice, Suzanne Orofino Galbato serves
as both the Chair of the Recruiting Committee and the Women's Initi-
ative; she is a former member of the firm's Diversity Committee, as well
as the Professional and Business Development Committee; and
WHEREAS, Since 2014, Suzanne Orofino Galbato has held the title of
Chair of the Board of Directors of Hiscock Legal Aid Society, a non-pro-
fit agency which provides legal services to indigent clients in Central
New York; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Suzanne Orofino Galbato is a vital member of
several law organizations, including the Board of Directors of the Syra-
cuse University Law Alumni Association, the Central New York Women's Bar
Association, the Onondaga County Bar Foundation, and the NYSBA Committee
on Women in the Law; and
WHEREAS, In addition to helping in her children's school classrooms,
Suzanne Orofino Galbato regularly volunteers at Syracuse Law School,

coaching student advocates preparing for competitions, and speaking on
issues relating to private practice, interviewing skills, work life
balance and diversity; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Riccardo T. Galba-
to, and her two children, Nicholas and Michael, all of whom feel privi-
leged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Suzanne Orofino Galbato upon the occasion of her designation as
a 2015 Inductee into the Auburn Alumni Hall of Distinction, on May 15,
2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Suzanne Orofino Galbato.
