LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring R. Randall Farnsworth upon the occasion
of his designation as a 2015 honoree by the Seneca Waterways Council Boy
Scouts of America on April 30, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor R.
Randall Farnsworth upon the occasion of his designation as a 2015 hono-
ree by the Seneca Waterways Council Boy Scouts of America, to be cele-
brated at its 40th Annual Youth Power Dinner on Thursday, April 30,
2015, at the Belhurst Castle, Geneva, New York; and
WHEREAS, R. Randall Farnsworth received a Bachelor's degree in Busi-
ness from the State University of New York at Albany in 1972; he went on
to earn a Master's of Business Administration degree from Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute in 1976; and
WHEREAS, President of Farnsworth Chevrolet and Randall Buick GMC
Cadillac in Canandaigua, New York, R. Randall Farnsworth is a third
generation automobile dealer, signing his first GM Franchise Agreement
at the age of 26 in 1977; and
WHEREAS, R. Randall Farnsworth has been called upon to contribute his
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, R. Randall Farnsworth has served as
a member of the Rochester, New York State, and National Automobile Deal-
er Associations since 1976; he has been a Canandaigua Chamber of
Commerce Business Member since 1963, and is a Founding Sponsor of the
ATHENA Award with the Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce and the Business
Professional Women's Club of Canandaigua; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Canandaigua Kiwanis since 1979, R. Randall
Farnsworth currently serves as the Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce
Economic Development Committee Co-Chair, Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce
Board Member, Dennis Morga Memorial Fund Chairman and is on the Ontario
Children's Foundation Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this esteemed man serves as a New York State
Economic Development Energy Sub-Committee Member, as well as a Rochester
Automobile Dealer Association Chairman and Board Member; he is on the
United Way of Ontario County Leadership Council; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, R. Randall Farnsworth has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife of 42 years, Margaret,
and their daughter, Alexandra, both of whom feel privileged to be a part
of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which R. Randall Farnsworth has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor R. Randall Farnsworth upon the occasion of his designation as a
2015 honoree by the Seneca Waterways Council Boy Scouts of America on

April 30, 2015, and to wish him continued success in all of his future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to R. Randall Farnsworth.
