LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Nancy Fuller upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2015 Third Age Achievement Award in
Business by Senior Services of Albany
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
applaud the leaders of commerce and industry whose accomplishments
contribute to the economic health and prosperity of the communities of
the State of New York and to the quality of life of its people; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Nancy Fuller
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2015 Third Age
Achievement Award in Business by Senior Services of Albany, to be cele-
brated at its 19th Annual Third Age Achievement Awards Luncheon on
Friday, May 8, 2015, at Wolfert's Roost Country Club, Albany, New York;
and
WHEREAS, Each year, this auspicious event recognizes the contributions
that area residents and professionals have made in their communities
during the Third Age of their lives; Nancy Fuller will receive this
award for her valuable agriculture achievements and devoted service to
her community after the age of 60; and
WHEREAS, A native of New York's Hudson Valley region, Nancy Fuller has
been a life-long supporter of her community; her efforts both profes-
sionally and personally have raised awareness for local and regional
farmers and promoting their agriculture products; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised as a dairy farmer, Nancy Fuller became a
local business owner and caterer in Columbia County for 25 years; and
WHEREAS, In 2006, Nancy Fuller had the opportunity to invest in her
husband's business, Ginsberg Foods, which is the largest independent
food distributor in the Hudson Valley region; currently, Ginsberg Foods
employs over 250 people, and services a radius of 250 miles along the
Hudson Valley area; and
WHEREAS, Nancy Fuller has been called upon to contribute her time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of herself unstintingly; she maintains involvement with numerous organ-
izations including Hudson Valley Bounty, Taste of the Hudson, and Hudson
Valley Bounty Riverfront Chili Contest; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Nancy Fuller continues her charitable efforts
supporting the Community of Hospice of both the Columbia and Greene
Counties, as well as the Columbia Memorial Hospital; for more than 20
years, she has chaired the Gala for Hospice, and serves on the hospital
Foundation Board; and
WHEREAS, Since her retirement, Nancy Fuller has become a renowned
individual in the area with her television show, "Farmhouse Rules," now
in its 4th season; the show is designed to advocate for local farmers,
as well as promote the fresh "farm to table" movement, which she has
actively supported for over 20 years; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Nancy has stood constant in dignity,
good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Today, Nancy Fuller is the loving mother of six children, and
the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren, all of whom feel privileged
to be a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, Through her diligence and expertise in farming and agricul-
ture, Nancy Fuller has brought pride and recognition to herself, her
local community, and to our great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Nancy Fuller upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2015 Third Age Achievement Award in Business by Senior Services of
Albany; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Nancy Fuller.
