LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Carolyn and Dennis P. Fagan for their
faithful and dedicated support to Joseph's House and Shelter

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Carolyn and Dennis P. Fagan have given not only of their time
and energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leadership
and consequently have been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Carolyn and
Dennis P. Fagan for their faithful and dedicated support to Joseph's
House and Shelter which was celebrated on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at
its Winter Walk and Love Thy Neighbor Festival Kick-Off Gala at the
Franklin Plaza Terrace Ballroom in Troy, New York; and
WHEREAS, Joseph's House and Shelter is a Troy community based not-for-
profit corporation whose purpose is to prevent and alleviate homeless-
ness; its programs offer emergency shelter, permanent housing, support
services, hospitality and guidance to homeless individuals, youth and
families; and
WHEREAS, This worthy corporation offers non-judgmental services where
each guest's dignity and worth are recognized and respected; in addi-
tion, it provides help from community agencies, and acts as an advocate
for the homeless to address immediate and long term needs; and
WHEREAS, Carolyn and Dennis P. Fagan have been stalwart supporters of
Joseph's House and Shelter's services; and
WHEREAS, Each month, Carolyn and Dennis P. Fagan generously contribute
funds to Joseph's House and Shelter's kitchen and meals program which
serves more than 60,000 meals each year for its guests and tenants; and
WHEREAS, Carolyn and Dennis P. Fagan have been called upon to contrib-
ute their time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors
and have always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Carolyn and Dennis P. Fagan have
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Carolyn and Dennis P. Fagan have
displayed throughout their lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Carolyn and Dennis P. Fagan for their faithful and dedicated
support to Joseph's House and Shelter; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Carolyn and Dennis P. Fagan.
