LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Brandye Rivera upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2014 Dedication to Youth Award by the
Boys & Girls Club of Albany

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Brandye Rivera has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Brandye Rivera
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2014 Dedication
to Youth Award by the Boys & Girls Club of Albany which was celebrated
at its 7th Annual Red, White and Chocolate Benefit on Thursday, November
13, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Brandye Rivera began her career with the Ninety Nine restau-
rants in 2003, and within three years was promoted to Assistant Manager
of the Ninety Nine restaurant in Rotterdam; it was there that she was
introduced to the Boys & Girls Club of Albany, and her love for volun-
teerism began to flourish; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure at the Ninety Nine restaurants, Brandye
Rivera has continued to give her time and energy to the Boys & Girls
Club; she has embraced learning about the services provided by the not-
for-profit organization and took leadership positions in its fundraising
efforts; and
WHEREAS, In 2012, Brandye Rivera joined the Board of Directors of the
Boys & Girls Club of Albany, and served on the Special Events Committee;
she also helped to manage and oversee the club's major fundraisers
including, but not limited to, the Dodgeball Tournament, the annual Golf
Tournament, and Red, White and Chocolate Benefit, where she has formerly
served as co-Chair; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Brandye Rivera upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2014 Dedication to Youth Award by the Boys & Girls Club of Alba-
ny; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Brandye Rivera.
