LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Rebecca Cleere upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2014 Dedication to Youth Award by the
Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca Cleere has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Rebecca Cleere
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2014 Dedication
to Youth Award by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany which was celebrated
at its 7th Annual Red, White and Chocolate Benefit on Thursday, November
13, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca Cleere currently serves as the director of develop-
ment of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany; in this capacity she seeks out
new and diverse revenue sources, coordinates club fundraising events,
manages volunteers, and handles community outreach; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed woman began her career at the Boys & Girls
Clubs as an AmeriCorps Vista National Service member; during her service
term at the club, she was able to secure significant grant funding to
help build capacity and serve more youth in need; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca Cleere is actively involved in Siena College's Office
of Academic and Community Engagement, where she oversees academic volun-
teers and other service members who work to build sustainable and mean-
ingful partnerships throughout the community; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Rebecca Cleere devotes her time to volunteering
with other local nonprofits in event planning and execution; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Rebecca Cleere has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Rebecca Cleere upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2014 Dedication to Youth Award by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Alba-
ny; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Rebecca Cleere.
