LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the South Asian-American Political
Action Committee upon the occasion of hosting its Annual Spring Break-
fast, and paying tribute to the 2015 Leaders of Tomorrow
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body, in keeping with its
time-honored traditions, to recognize and pay tribute to those organiza-
tions which foster ethnic pride and enhance the profile of cultural
diversity which strengthens the fabric of the communities of New York
State; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend the South
Asian-American Political Action Committee upon the occasion of hosting
its Annual Spring Breakfast, and to pay tribute to the 2015 Leaders of
Tomorrow, to be celebrated on Sunday, April 26, 2015, at the Mint
Restaurant and Lounge, Garden City, New York; and
WHEREAS, The 2015 honorees include: Aiysha Mohammed, Rhea Manjrekar,
Ameera Iftekhar, Vivek Shah, Christopher Bartoldus, Parth Merai, Sahil
Batra, Mohammed Ali Jaffer, Krishna Pandit, Siraat Zafar, Taylor Oommen,
Aman Thind, Ramiz Latif, Anusha Syed; and
WHEREAS, The South Asian-American Political Action Committee (SAPAC)
is a not-for-profit organization which seeks to give a voice to people
of South Asian descent living in the Long Island area and throughout the
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, This vital organization strives to bring social and political
equality to the South Asian community, as well as an appreciation of
their culture and tradition; and
WHEREAS, The success of the SAPAC is in direct correlation to the
efforts of its members, whose involvement is, and always has been, char-
acterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an
uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the
organization and the population it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the South Asian-American Political Action Committee upon the
occasion of hosting its Annual Spring Breakfast, and to pay tribute to
the 2015 honorees; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the South Asian-American Political Action Committee, and the
2015 Leaders of Tomorrow.
