LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Robert P. McBride upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by the EAC Network on April 30,
2015
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Robert P. McBride has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Robert P.
McBride upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by
the EAC Network, to be feted at its 45th Anniversary Celebration on
Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Carlyle on the Green, Farmingdale, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Robert P. McBride studied Business Administration at the
State University of New York; and
WHEREAS, In 1982, Robert P. McBride began his career when he took
possession of a small New York-based ground transportation company and
rapidly expanded the business, making it the largest and most successful
operation of its kind in the region; and
WHEREAS, After selling the franchise in 2000, Robert P. McBride served
as the Northeast Regional Manager for Coach USA, the largest ground
transportation company in the world; and
WHEREAS, A dynamic business strategist, Robert P. McBride maintains a
diverse client portfolio which spans a variety of industries, ranging
from real estate to construction to transportation and more; he is
sought out by leading businesses, both nationwide and globally oversees,
as well as prominent professionals, and has an exceptional track record
for building relationships; and
WHEREAS, Robert P. McBride has over 30 years of experience counseling
business leaders regarding business development and public policy; when
it comes to the workings in the governmental and political arena, his
work has resulted in the shaping of public policy in a number of areas
including business advocacy, municipal matters, and land use; and
WHEREAS, Robert P. McBride has provided counsel regarding a number of
complex issues on Long Island and in New York, ranging from mitigating
community opposition to transportation projects to navigating union
matters; he also works with a Washington, D.C.-based lobbying firm
representing a host of international firms; and
WHEREAS, Today, Robert P. McBride holds the esteemed position of
Senior Vice President of Park Strategies, LLC; in addition to his role
at Park Strategies, he continues to own and manage several enterprises,
including Metro Taxi, a company known for its environmentally friendly
fleet of hybrid vehicles, and Federal Shield Security, a security and
surveillance firm on Long Island which offers a full range of investi-
gative and security services; and
WHEREAS, Robert P. McBride has been profiled in several regional and
national business publications; in 2010, he was recognized by Long
Island Business News as an influential leader in its 50 Around 50 awards
program; and in 2011, he was selected to the title of President of the
Taxi Limousine & Paratransit Association; and
WHEREAS, Robert P. McBride has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Active in his community of Long Island, Robert P. McBride has
served for over 20 years as a member of the Board of Directors of the
Education and Assistance Corporation (EAC Network), for which he has
held the position of Board Chairman; he has also participated on the
boards of The Leukemia Society and United Way of Long Island; and
WHEREAS, This remarkable man has been actively involved with the
Mineola Lions Club for 25 years, acting as President from 1991-1993, and
has also given of his time to the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick for
more than two decades; and
WHEREAS, Robert P. McBride has been the recipient of numerous awards
and accolades including the Declaration of Independence Award by Israel
Bonds, the Citizen of the Year Award by the New York Grand Lodge Founda-
tion Sons of Italy, and recognition by the Long Island Association for
AIDS Care (LIAAC); and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Robert P. McBride has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Marion, who feels
privileged to be a part of his life and rejoices in his achievements;
and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Robert P. McBride has displayed
throughout his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Robert P. McBride upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the EAC Network; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Robert P. McBride.
