LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the 2015 honorees of Brooklyn, New
York, upon the occasion of celebrating the 4th Annual Educational Lead-
ership Awards Breakfast ceremony

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge those
outstanding educational leaders and professionals whose dedication and
achievements have been instrumental in developing character and academic
excellence in the young people of New York State; and
WHEREAS, New York State's commitment to education is unparalleled; its
history and stature are secured by the superlative caliber of its educa-
tional professionals and the students they inspire; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in keeping with its time-ho-
nored traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to commend
Thomas McLaughlin of Brooklyn, New York, upon the occasion of celebrat-
ing the 4th Annual Educational Leadership Awards Breakfast ceremony on
Friday, May 1, 2015, at Grand Prospect Hall, Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Thomas McLaughlin has been selected for this esteemed honor
in recognition of the leadership, excellence and commitment shown in
strengthening the educational pursuits of young people in New York; and
WHEREAS, Initially designed to recognize the outstanding commitment
and dedication of Parent Coordinators, it now commends principals,
parent teacher association staff and other educational professionals
whose obligation to children provides parents and families with a power-
ful voice on behalf of every child; and
WHEREAS, The Educational Leadership Awards Breakfast provides an
opportunity to recognize Thomas McLaughlin, and the significant contrib-
utions to the quality of life and the progression of our educational
system, and for all people to gain a greater appreciation of the role
educational professionals will continue to play in our society; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals such as Thomas McLaughlin who foster pride
in education and exemplify family engagement which represents and
strengthens the fabric of the people and the State of New York; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Thomas McLaughlin. upon the occasion of celebrating the 4th
Annual Educational Leadership Awards Breakfast ceremony; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Thomas McLaughlin.
