LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Dr. Kirsten C. Cestaro upon the occasion
of her designation as recipient of the Raising the Bar Award by To Life!
on May 5, 2015
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality of life in the communities across this great State of New York
is enriched by the diligence and compassionate commitment of those indi-
viduals whose singular purpose is the care and welfare of others; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dr.
Kirsten C. Cestaro upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Raising the Bar Award by To Life!, to be celebrated at its 17th
Annual Gala on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the Franklin Plaza, Troy, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Kirsten C. Cestaro received her undergraduate degree from the
University of Colorado at Boulder; upon graduation, she spent one and a
half years working in a lab at the University of Colorado Health
Sciences Center where she studied colon cancer, specifically the genetic
alterations which occur when normal colonic mucosa turn to polyps and
cancer; and
WHEREAS, Earning her medical degree from the University of Texas
Southwestern in Dallas, Kirsten C. Cestaro went on to complete her diag-
nostic radiology residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences
Center, as well as her body predominant MR-imaging fellowship at North-
western in Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Today, Dr. Kirsten C. Cestaro serves as an esteemed Radiolo-
gist with St. Peter's Health Partners; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her loving husband, Brian, and
their two beautiful daughters, Mary Kate and Hannah, all of whom feel
privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, In the faithful performance of her duties and responsibil-
ities, Dr. Kirsten C. Cestaro's ongoing efforts and notable achievements
have significantly contributed to bettering the quality of life in her
community; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure, Dr. Kirsten C. Cestaro has continuous-
ly displayed initiative and an unrelenting commitment when pursuing the
highest of goals, and she has served as a role model of leadership to be
emulated by all; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Dr. Kirsten C. Cestaro has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dr. Kirsten C. Cestaro upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the Raising the Bar Award by To Life! on May 5, 2015; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dr. Kirsten C. Cestaro.
