LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the Town of Cheektowaga Department
of Senior Services' celebration of the 50th Wedding Anniversaries of
area citizens on May 6, 2015
WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to
the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their past
contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and valuable
asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commemorate the Town
of Cheektowaga Department of Senior Services' celebration of the 50th
Wedding Anniversaries of area citizens on Wednesday, May 6, 2015; and
WHEREAS, The following loving senior citizens were united in marriage
in 1965: Mary Rose and Richard Ciskal (June 12); Kathleen and Al Filonc-
zuk (April 24); Susanne and Walter Graham (May 1); Marilynn and Ron
Hennessy (June 5); Maureen and Darwin Hoffman (January 9); Elaine and
James Jacks (October 2); Marie and Tony Krupski (November 6); Maryann
and William Lauber (May 8); Barbara and Ralph Maraszek (June 26); Patri-
cia and Chester Okonczak (August 21); Diane and Kenneth Pietrzak (Octo-
ber 2); Jane and Gerald Piskorz (September 4); Mary K. and Philip Porto
(March 20); Stephanie and Thomas Ptak (August 7); Susan and Frank
Switalski (July 3); Phyllis and Paul Tripi (September 4); Camille and
Richard Wojciechowski (October 16); and Carol and Ronald Zajac (February
27); and
WHEREAS, They are the proud parents of many children and grandchil-
dren; and
WHEREAS, These enduring couples are and have been a tower of strength,
support, understanding and limitless love for their families; and
WHEREAS, Their love, devotion, caring, sensitivity and responsiveness
to their families, friends and all who know them are their hallmark and
tradition; and
WHEREAS, They have lived and continue to live their lives with great
dignity and genuine grace, always demonstrating a deep and continuing
concern for human values and ideals, and in so doing, have inspired
others to do the same; and
WHEREAS, This meaningful occasion is an event of personal triumph and
joy, a result of the love, hard work and spirit these couples have
invested in their marriages; and
WHEREAS, These same values they have passed to their loved ones,
producing families that are close-knit and supportive of their individ-
ual members, public-minded in their relations to the community, and
committed to the ideals of citizenship upon which this nation was found-
ed; and
WHEREAS, These enduring couples have touched the lives of their fami-
lies and many friends through the shining example of their marriages
which have stood as evidence of the devotion and admiration which they
possess for one another; and
WHEREAS, The longevity of these enduring marriages truly marks a mile-
stone in life's journey; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when an occa-
sion of such importance is brought to our attention, it should be memo-
rialized by us for the edification and emulation of others; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate these senior citizens of Cheektowaga, New York, upon the
occasion of the Town of Cheektowaga Department of Senior Services' cele-
bration of their 50th Wedding Anniversaries on May 6, 2015, at the
Cheektowaga Senior Center; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kerry A. Switalski, Director of Senior Services, and to each
couple.
