LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Town of North Hempstead upon the
occasion of hosting its 43rd Annual Senior Recognition Day on May 12,
2015, and paying tribute to this year's honorees
WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to
the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their past
contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and valuable
asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Town of North Hempstead upon the occasion of hosting its 43rd Annual
Senior Recognition Day on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, and to pay tribute to
this year's honorees; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the Town of North Hempstead is privileged to
recognize those senior citizens who, through a lifetime of impressive
achievement, are a profound inspiration to all the citizens of our
Empire State; this year's distinguished honorees include: Bill Belinsky,
Fran Berger, Anne Boland, Mary Castrianni, Safdar Chadda, Joan Echausse,
Tess Fiorentino, Mary F. Gill, Mel Goodbinder, Lavenia Johnson, Shahnaz
Farzan Kashani, Carl J. Lalena, Joan Linden, Edward J. Palkot, Ellen
Permut, Julia Reid, Doris Rosman, Sharmin Rozwadowski, Siroon Shahinian,
Indu Singhi, Susan Stempler, Bernice Suna, William (Bill) Vesely, Micha-
el J. Vezzi, and Lola Wilson; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the
senior citizens of the Empire State who, as they reach the fullness of
years, continue to be active and vital participants in the life of their
community; and
WHEREAS, Older New Yorkers bring their special wisdom, experience and
enthusiasm to countless endeavors, helping to shape and strengthen the
character of our communities and the quality of our lives; and
WHEREAS, Senior citizens continue to enrich the lives of their family,
friends and colleagues through their love and respect for others, and
through the wisdom which comes from many years of living life to the
fullest; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize and commend those who have witnessed and contributed to the devel-
opments and achievements of our Nation, State, and communities over the
course of their noteworthy lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Town of North Hempstead upon the occasion of hosting its
43rd Annual Senior Recognition Day on May 12, 2015, and to pay tribute
to this year's honorees; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Town of North Hempstead, and the aforementioned honorees.
