LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Neil and Jane Golub upon the occasion of
their designation as recipients of the 2015 C. Jordan Vail Spirit of
Philanthropy Award

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
who have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire State with
their strong contributions to the community and model citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Neil
and Jane Golub upon the occasion of their designation as recipients of
the 2015 C. Jordan Vail Spirit of Philanthropy Award by the Community
Foundation for the Greater Capital Region, to be feted at its Cele-
bration of Philanthropy Luncheon on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Wolferts
Roost Country Club in Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award is presented in recognition of communi-
ty members who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and extraor-
dinary commitment to preserving and enhancing the quality of life in the
Upstate New York region; and
WHEREAS, This remarkable couple truly exemplify the spirit of this
award; for decades, Neil and Jane Golub have thoughtfully and generously
given of their time and energies and serve the best interests of their
communities by supporting dozens of charities throughout the Capital
District; and
WHEREAS, Devoted philanthropic leaders, Neil and Jane Golub endorse
programs and projects that inspire positive change and instill hope
throughout their community; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Neil and Jane Golub have displayed
throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Neil and Jane Golub upon the occasion of their designation as
recipients of the 2015 C. Jordan Vail Spirit of Philanthropy Award; and
be it further; and
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Neil and Jane Golub.
